Automotive suppliers applying their products on the German market must demonstrate compliance with the special quality system requirements necessary for the approval of vehicles for operation on the road. These requirements have been laid down by the competent German authority Kraftfahrt - Bundesamt (www.kba.de). Based on its accreditation, TÜV NORD audits and issues KBA certificates. Certification according to the additional KBA requirements for a quality management system according to ISO 9001 is oriented towards the quality management systems of automotive suppliers with regard to the fulfilment of the requirements of the national and international approval regulations for the operation of vehicles on the roads of the Federal Republic of Germany. Certification is usually carried out in parallel with ISO 9001 certification, whereby the above-mentioned KBA superstructure requirements are verified. After the certification audit, a separate certificate is issued confirming compliance with all KBA requirements.
