Requirements for quality management systems or their significant parts in the food and feed industry are described in standards and regulations under the designation HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, IFS, BRC or GMP+.

These procedures lay down rules for the safety of the food or feed chain. Depending on nature of the product, these are primary producers in the agricultural and food sector, production, transport and distribution companies, as well a retail, restaurants and canteens. In addition to this direct chain, the above regulations are intended for production and service providers, whose activities or products are related to food or feed safety.
