Tourism Certification

Indonesia has the potential of nature and cultural tourism which are abundant. However, the quality and services in the tourism sector should be kept well. Ministerial Regulation for Indonesian Tourism make the obligatory for all sectors of the Tourism Industry in Indonesia to possess a Certificate for Tourism Industry in order that its management is professional, and meeting standards issued by the government.

Based on Law No. 10 of 2009 on Tourism Development which dictates that products, services and management of the tourist industry must follow approved standards. Additionally, on Government Regulation PP 52 of 2012 on Standard Competencies and Tourism Industries Certification, and on Ministerial also regulates the establishments of Certification Institutes, implementation of Certification and their supervision.

PT TUV NORD Indonesia has been accredited for tourism certification schemes by National Accreditation Committee of Indonesia (KAN) with the accreditation No. LSPr-012-IDN and the following scopes:

1. Tourism certification in the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing with the scope of hotel, business arena games and amusement park
2. SNI 9042:2021 (CHSE)

Tourism certification in the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing is regulated in the following regulation:

1. Government Regulation No. 5 of 2021 regarding the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing
2. Regulation of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy / Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency No. 4 of 2021 regarding Standard of Business Activities on the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing in the tourism sector

The assessment criteria consist of specific requirements, facilities, organizational structure & human resources, services, business product requirements and business management. Tourism business certificates for the business standard of medium to high risk and high risk are valid as long as the tourism business actor run their business.

CHSE certification is a certification of cleanliness, health, safety and environmental sustainability in the business facilities and supporting the tourism actvities. The assessment criteria consist of four dimensions (Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability) and three criteria (Management/Governance, Readiness of Human Resources, Visitor/Guest Participation). SNI 9042:2021 certification is valid for 3 years.
