What is occupational health and safety management system?
ISO 45001 is an International Standard that specifies requirements for occupational health and safety management system. This standard was published in 2018 to replace OHSAS 18001: 2007.
ISO 45001 sets out the requirements for the Occupational Health and Safety system, along with the manual which allow the organization to improve the performance of OH&S in preventing injury and accidents.
ISO 45001 can be applied to all types of businesses. All requirements of ISO 45001 will be integrated into the organization's management processes.
ISO 45001 allows an organization, through its OH&S management system, to integrate other aspects of health and safety, such as health care/welfare for employees; however, it should be noted that an organization may be required by applicable legal requirements to address such issues.
